Lights, Camera, Vancouver!

Vancouver is often referred to as Hollywood North for good reason. Every year countless movies and shows are filmed in the city. But a lesser-known fact is the high quality of the offerings at the Vancouver International Film Festival that takes place every fall. From September 28th to October 8th, the festival celebrates and showcases exceptional international cinema, talks, conferences, live performances, and unique events celebrating film culture. The biggest film festival in Western Canada, VIFF strives to engage and empower the local communities, to encourage dialogue, educate and champion local artists, too.

Including a festival film to a fall visit is a great way to experience firsthand the amazing film culture in the city. And while the festival’s full program is not available until September 6th, the roster will feature great cinema from around the globe, including approximately 120 features and documentaries, and 100 shorts.
