Davie Village
A village paved with rainbows
Ask me anything about Davie Village! 🏳️🌈
Through its charm and embracing spirit, Davie Village is the neighbourhood that brings people together.
1st
rainbow crosswalk in all of Canada sits at Davie and Bute Streets.
Davie Village began as a safe space for 2SLGBTQ+ folks when private displays of homosexuality were still illegal. Now, it’s flourished into a vibrant, out and proud community, stretching along Davie Street between Burrard and Jervis Streets.
The rainbow crosswalk will lead you to the Jim Deva Plaza, named for the late activist and 2SLGBTQ+ champion.
By day, Davie Village in Vancouver is perfect for strolling through small, locally-owned stores, or sipping fresh-brewed coffee in quaint cafés. By night, the street transforms into thumping blocks of lively clubs, pubs, and parties. The Village is steps away from Sunset Beach, where culture, beach, and city converge.

Queer books & beats
Davie Village's vibrancy seeps into all corners of the neighbourhood. Peruse the public art installations and pop in and out of locally-owned bookstores and boutiques. For nightlife, you have your pick of DJs and nightclubs, queer events like drag queen bingo, or sports bars showing the game.
Stay in Vancouver’s 2SLGBTQ+ centre
Diverse, energetic, and in the midst of it all, this friendly community is full of character. Lined with cafés, local-favourite establishments, and steps from the beach or downtown, you’ll have plenty to explore right outside your doorstep and world-class views from your balcony.
Good things come in small packages
You won’t find big box stores in Davie Village. Independent stores cater to locals, and spots like the renowned LGBTQ+ bookshop Little Sisters and the impressively curated, long-running wine shop Marquis Wine Cellars are a big part of the community. Davie Village sparkles with the warm and welcoming spirit that Vancouver is known for.
