Built by coal baron Robert Dunsmuir during the reign of Queen Victoria and now a National Historic Site, Craigdarroch Castle has been meticulously restored, giving visitors a glimpse of privileged life in the 1890s. The Castle weaves a fascinating tale of an intriguing family – their achievements, their relationships and even their quirks.

LOCATION: 1050 Joan Crescent (just off Fort Street)

HOURS: Open daily for self-guided tours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:30.
Extended hours June 15 - Labour Day: 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

ADMISSION: Adult: $13.95, Senior: $12.95, Student (19+ with ID): $8.95, Child (6-18): $5.00, Child (5 and under): no charge

DRIVE: An easy 8 minute drive from the Inner Harbour, up Fort Street, right on Joan Crescent - parking available.

CITY BUS: From downtown, routes 11 and 14 will drop you off at the foot of Joan Crescent, a two minute walk to the Castle's doorstep.

WALKING: A 40-45 minute walk from the Inner Harbour, up Fort Street, along Antique Row and various interesting shops and sights.

CITY TOURS: Many companies offer city tours that include the Castle. Call the Tourism Victoria Information Centre (250) 953-2033 for current information.

Please note: As a historic house museum, there are 87 stairs, and with no ramps or elevator, the Castle is not wheelchair accessible.
