It specializes in both Northern Chinese and Cantonese cuisine, and is well-known for its preparation of seafood in both traditional and exotic styles.

The efforts of Kirin have been well-rewarded: it received the Certificate of Entrepreneurial Achievement issued by the Government of British Columbia in 1991 for its contribution to the economic diversification of B.C.
