1985

The Lonsdale Quay Market opens, bringing together retail shops and food stalls on the waterfront.

Lower Lonsdale is a vibrant area with art galleries and lively events. Find the Inuit Gallery, renowned for its collection of Indigenous art, the North Shore Museum, and the cherished Polygon Gallery. The Shipyards pulsates with a constant stream of markets, festivals like the popular Brewhalla craft beer event, and even open-air cinema screenings, ensuring there's always something exciting to discover.

In 2014, North Van city council announced plans to repurpose the shipyards.
