Since the introduction of the Shipyard Commons, North Vancouver has quickly become a must-try destination for foodies. Take a culinary tour around the North Shore and check out some of these new restaurants:

EDGEMONT

Vancouver’s North Shore welcomed Bufala Edgemont, the sister location to Kerrisdale Italian eatery Bufala late last year. The bar menu includes an impressive wine list, a mix of classic and contemporary cocktails, local craft beer on tap, amaro, and grappa, and a house-made rosemary limoncello. Bufala Edgemont’s authentic Italian menu includes items like bone marrow pizza, spaghetti “Puttanesca”, and arancini.

LOWER LONSDALE

This casual, intimate Italian restaurant drew inspiration for its menu from the wood oven, which the restaurant says is “the heart” of their kitchen. The menu is designed to be shared family-style, with a selection of antipasti, risotto, pasta, and pizza. The restaurant showcases and sources local seasonal ingredients, as well as specialty items from Italy.

Kokoro’s North Van eatery is the franchise's second Metro Vancouver location, which opened its doors late last year. The popular Japanese chain was created in Tokyo, Japan in 2013 and has since gained global popularity. The restaurant serves up “soupless” Japanese ramen that comes with all the fixings, including fresh soba noodles that are made in-house daily.

SHIPYARD COMMONS

Joey Restaurants recently opened its newest location at the Shipyard Commons. This is Joey’s twenty-eighth opening, with unparalleled water and city views, an open theatre kitchen, a wrap-around lounge bar, and two patios. The building is 6,000 square feet with a guest capacity of 393 patrons. The menu remains classically “Joey” and will continue to offer it’s universally loved Happy Hours.

Seaside Provisions was a part of the Shipyard Commons renovation last summer and is the official restaurant for the new Seaside Hotel. The restaurant focuses on small plate tapas and locally sourced regional creations. It serves brunch and dinner and has an exciting list of bespoke cocktails.
