Everything You Need to Know About Cypress Mountain’s New Eagle Coaster (Opening July 12)
West Vancouver’s Cypress Mountain is launching an exciting new summer attraction on July 12: the Eagle Coaster! This gravity-fed roller coaster lets you strap into a cart, then fly like an eagle as you twist and turn down the mountain.
Your adventure begins with a ride on the Eagle Express Quad Chair to the top of Black Mountain. From there, you’ll board one of the Eagle Coaster’s passenger carts and get ready to hurtle down the mountain.
Since you can control your speed by using the brake, you have the power to make your trip as slow and easy or as fast and scary as you want. The top speed is about 40 kilometres per hour!

The coaster travels along a 1.7km track with an overall vertical drop of 279m. The track winds through the forest and along the ski runs with lots of exciting dips and turns and some great views along the way.
The Eagle Coaster was designed and made by Sunkid, an Austrian company that specializes in making this style of mountain coasters. They have installed similar attractions in Europe and at BC’s Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
