Take a Self-Guided Maple Ridge Brewery Tour
Did you know Maple Ridge is home to a growing craft beer community? (There’s more to the area than of mountains, farmland, and hiking trails.) This 11-km-long self-guided brewery tour visits four independent breweries in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows. The first three breweries are close together, making them ideal to visit on foot or by bike. The last stop is a 35-minute bike ride or a 10 minute drive away.
Biking Note: This cycling route uses bike lanes and quiet streets where possible, but it does involve a little bit of riding on busy streets. Be careful. Use this link for turn-by-turn directions on Google maps.
1st Stop: Ridge Brewing Company
Start your tour at Ridge Brewing in the heart of Maple Ridge.
When they opened in 2015, they were one of the first craft breweries in the area. Try perennial favourites like Wind & Sea Northwest Pale Ale or Neighbourhood Craft Lager or check out seasonal offerings like Dark Science Orange Stout. Stop in on the first Tuesday of the month to enjoy live music at open mic night.

2nd Stop: Maple Meadows Brewing
Your next stop is only a few hundred meters away. Head west on Dewdney Trunk Road for half a block and find Maple Meadows Brewing on the other side of the street.
Maple Meadows isn’t just a micro-brewery. They call themselves a nano-brewery since their tasting room holds just 10 people! But this tiny brewery is worth a visit since they have 10 beers on tap and have lots of take-home options, which aren’t available anywhere else. They have two nitro-taps and classics like West Coast Ale and Dark Red Ale. Be sure to try some of their more experimental brews like Porchata Milk Porter, inspired by the milky Latin American drink.

3rd Stop: Silver Valley Brewing
Your third stop is one kilometre away. If you’re walking or biking, take a short detour to skip the traffic on Dewdney Trunk Road. Go north on Fletcher Street, then west on Brown Avenue. Turn left to go south for two blocks on 224 Street to arrive at Silver Valley Brewing.
This brewery’s name is a nod to their humble beginnings in the owner’s carport in the Silver Valley neighbourhood. Today Silver Valley Brewing has a tasting room on 224 Street and is known for its traditional English Ales. They also make a wide variety of beers ranging from IPAs to stouts and sours. If you’re visiting in winter, try their Dark Necessities Mocha Stout or Frozen Pond English Strong.

4th Stop: Foamer’s Folly Brewing Co.
The last stop on your tour is in the nearby town of Pitt Meadows. It’s 10km away, which is a bit far to walk but should take about 35 minutes by bike. The best cycling route avoids Dewdney Trunk Road. Use this map for complete directions.
The brewers at Foamer’s Folly believe in pushing boundaries and making adventurous craft beer like their Lavender Earl Grey Extra Special Bitter and Beetlejuice Beet, Blueberry, and Blackberry Sour. For traditionalists, they also offer Dad Beer West Coast Pilsner and several IPAs. Their big tasting room features 20 taps and they often host live music and game nights.
