Farmer's Market Guide

It could be the moderate climate or the do-it-yourself culture, but Vancouver is filled with farmers markets year-round, promising a breadth of locally sourced foods and crafts. Meet growers, bakers, farmers and craftsmen who bring their wares straight from their fields and workshops to your shopping bag. Most neighbourhoods have a market, held on different days to maintain a steady supply of delicious, local produce throughout the week. You can view this map to find farmers markets throughout Metro Vancouver, but here are nine top pick for visitors.

West End Farmers Market

1100 Comox Street, at the edge of Nelson Park
Saturdays, 9am - 2pm from May 27 - October 21
Located in the heart of the West End neighbourhood, this laid-back Saturday market is walking distance from most downtown hotels, making it a great way to start your weekend in Vancouver. Grab a coffee and browse the stalls selling fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as pickles, preserves, baked goods and cheeses, and plan a picnic!

West End Weekly Sunday Art Market

Jim Deva Plaza, 1200 Bute Street at Davie Street
Sundays, May - October
WE Arts is the West End Arts Society that is launching a weekly Sunday Art Market this year. The market creates a foundation to connect with many West Enders, Vancouverites and visitors over the summer and fall months. 50% of the artists are West End residents, with the balance coming from Vancouver and across BC, showcasing local and regional craftsmanship and talents.

Winter Market

Nat Bailey Stadium, at Ontario and East 30th Ave
Saturdays, November - April 25
Farmers markets aren’t just for summer! This market is open over the winter and spring, and while there’s less produce than during the sunnier months, the market makes up for it with plenty of pickles, preserves and other handmade goods—all of which make better souvenirs than a bag of tomatoes! Close to Queen Elizabeth Park, if it’s a sunny day, plan for a post-shop stroll.
