Feeling like a taste of Mexico this weekend?

The Vancouver International Tequila Expo is back, offering connoisseurs and newbies alike the chance to taste 100 per cent agave mezcals and tequilas, and to sample spirits not yet available in B.C. There’s also cervezas, cocktails and more at the Grand Tasting, this Saturday (May 28) at the Hyatt Regency (655 Burrard St.).

The Grand Tasting caps a week of events dedicated to the drink. Running from 7 – 10 p.m., the tasting will also feature small bite food pairings created specifically to pair with tequila and mezcal. Featured restaurants include The Edge Social Grille & Lounge, El Santo, Joe Fortes, La Mezcaleria, Las Margaritas, and Mosaic Bar & Grille and Showcase Restaurant.

For the third year, the Peloton de La Muerte Cocktail Competition features ten finalist bartenders showcasing their own agave-based creations.

And if you taste something you like enough to bring home, the onsite Legacy Liquor Store features products for purchase.

Tickets are now on sale through Tickets Tonight. Single tickets are $79, with a group rate available for only $69 each for groups of six or more. Ticket buyers will be entered to win a trip for two to Puerto Vallarta. For more info visit vantequilaexpo.com.
