Love is in the air!

Here is a list of things you can do to celebrate Valentine's Day in Vancouver this year:

Take your best friend or friends forever to Wildebeest for their Valentine’s Day dinner service for two or four. This Gastown eatery is celebrating love on February 14 with its multi-course feast fit for a double date. Tickets to the dinner include a choice of dishes such as poached sablefish, confit pork belly, and Baretta Farms flat iron steak, as well as a Valentine’s Day dessert featuring chocolate and cherries. Optional wine pairings handpicked by Wildebeest’s Wine Director, Christina Hartigan will also be offered along with Bar Manager Darren O’Grady’s special cocktail, the ‘Clover Over Dover’ with a V-Day twist.

Enjoy Valentine’s Day a little bit longer this year with Cibo Trattoria and UVA Wine & Cocktail Bar’s romantic three-course menu and cocktail on February 14 and 15. The dinner menu at Cibo features dishes like Taleggio con arugula e pear insalata, pollo al Marsala, and cioccolato per due. Next door UVA Lead Bartender Morgane Lefort will be serving up a signature lover’s libation, the ‘French Kiss’ featuring Empress gin, Martini Bianco vermouth, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, and fresh lemon juice.

This year, Ancora is offering couples two delicious ways to celebrate Valentine's day by hosting romantic dinners at its False Creek and Ambleside locations on February 14, 2020. Offered as a part of a set menu, Valentine’s plates showcase the restaurants Japanese-Peruvian fusion in dishes such as salmon tartare causas, Matane shrimp risotto, and aji panca-glazed sablefish. For dessert, the menu offers a Manjari chocolate mousse for two. The restaurant is also offering a vegetarian menu for those who desire a plant-based evening. Beverage pairings hand-selected by the sommelier teams at both locations that spotlight Old and New World wines are available for an additional cost.

Once again, Juke Fried Chicken is sharing the love on Valentine’s Day in true Southern-fried style with the return of its popular and perennially sold-out ‘Let’s Cluck’ Fried-Chicken Bouquets. Each bouquet swaps out the been-there, done-that Valentine’s Day floral arrangement for eight mouthwatering pieces of Juke’s trademark gluten-free, crispy fried chicken in a decorative wrap for $29 each plus tax. Juke will also be open for lovers and significant others on Valentine’s Day with its full lineup of Southern-fried chicken, sticky pork ribs and snacks, salads and sides available all night long in addition to an array of signature and classic cocktails, craft beer and wine. Available in limited quantities, orders can be made online for pickup on Friday, February 14.

This Valentine’s Day, couples go head to head to compete in a Vancouver Mysteries. Couples are to find clues, complete challenges, solve the mystery, and win prizes. Three different games are played simultaneously during this Mega Mystery that sells out every year.

Scientists at the Vancouver Aquarium agree that blushing can be considered camouflage when discussing topics such as coral sex. On February 14, Indulge in an alluring and amusing exploration of the sex lives of aquatic animals during our Valentine’s Day After Hours. With a drink in one hand, your partner or pal in the other, get set for a scintillating evening. In addition to exploring the Aquarium’s galleries at night, you can also enjoy special programs covering a range of hot topics.
