633 More Steps to Go… The 2017 Urban Grind Comes Back to the Vancouver Lookout
During the winter season it can be hard to stay in shape when your couch looks so inviting and your sweatpants feel so comfortable. It’s dark, cold, there’s snow on the trails… Millions of excuses not to get out and get in shape! However, the Vancouver Lookout at the Harbour Centre is bringing back a fun excuse to exercise starting in March with their Urban Grind series.
Similar to the infamous Grouse Grind, this Urban Grind features steps – lots and lots of steps! Actually 633 steps in total, to be exact. For this grind, you’ll be tackling 28 flights of stairs, but it’s worth it for what’s waiting at the top!
Once you reach the Vancouver Lookout, you’ll be treated to a 360º aerial view of Vancouver, a refreshing beer, and live DJ entertainment. And, if you haven’t built up enough of a sweat after 633 steps, you can also return to the base of the building and complete the whole thing again as many times as you can handle it!

If you’re looking to climb the equivalent of the Grouse Grind, you are permitted to ascend and descend the stairs as many times as you desire. To be more precise, it will take about five climbs to complete the Grouse Grind equivalent (the Grouse Grind features ~2,830 steps!)
It costs $5 to participate in the Urban Grind, but this entry ticket includes one beer, DJ entertainment, and a $5 Harbour Centre Food Court voucher. They’re pretty much paying you to participate.
The Urban Grind takes the place of the Grouse Grind, which is still covered with snow (and likely will be for a few more months!) So, if you’re itching for an intense workout, the Urban Grind is the perfect Tuesday night activity.
