Registration for the 2021 Virtual Vancouver Sun Run Now Open
Now in its 37th year, the annual Vancouver Sun Run will return in a very unique way. Due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19, the Vancouver Sun Run and Shaw Mini Sun Run will take place virtually from Sunday, April 18th through to Friday, April 30th and you can be the first to register!
The Vancouver Sun Run is Canada’s largest 10k road race and the 3rd largest timed 10k in North America and this year, participants from all over British Columbia and throughout Canada will be encouraged to complete their own versions of the iconic race within their own communities. Whether you are from Vancouver, Surrey, Prince George, or Toronto. If you have ran the race before, have lived in Vancouver, or just love our great city, you are welcome to take part!
“We are so pleased to be able to provide some form of the Vancouver Sun Run to runners this year,” said Harold Munro, Vancouver Sun and Province Editor-in-chief, “a virtual version is a nice way to carry on the tradition. This is the first time people across B.C. will be able to participate in their hometowns and share photos with us without travelling to Vancouver.”
For the first time in its 37 year history, every registrant will receive a tech T-shirt and commemorative medal for completing their own version of the 10K run. This marks the first time the Vancouver Sun Run has provided a medal to participants.
Once again, registrants will be able to raise funds for local charities through the pledging program, which began in 2014. The Vancouver Sun Run’s charitable efforts have raised more than $3 Million dollars to date.
Registration for the Vancouver Sun Run is open now with early bird pricing in effect until January 31st. For more information, visit vancouversunrun.com
