So you’re over 55, you’re feeling cooped up, and you want to get your groove on. But maybe you’d rather connect with some folks your own age rather than jumping in with a bunch of 20-40-somethings. West Point Grey Community Centre, Trout Lake Community Centre and Moberly Arts and Cultural Centre have collaborated to create an online dance classes for the 55+ community.

The classes are a social experience that encourage and enable seniors to creatively express their life experiences and knowledge. “Collaborative creative dance is a way of letting go through the body, bypassing the conscious mind,” says Desirée Dunbar, an experienced choreographer who will lead each online class. Desirée has led the a dance workshop series at West Point Grey Community Centre since 2016 and runs Dezza Dance.

Classes are on every Friday from 12:00pm – 1:00pm for the next few weeks, with no end date yet.
