For a naughtier New Year’s Eve: Rio Theatre’s Annual Naughty Little New Year’s Eve Emceed by comedian Patrick Maliha – who has appeared on The Comedy Network, CTV,CBC, Roundhouse Radio and more – the Rio’s enchanting event features a whirlwind of burlesque, magicians, comedians and other variety acts to keep partyers entertained well past midnight. Tickets cost $25 ($45 at the door) and include entry, party favours and a glass of bubbles to ring in the new year.
For a decadent feast in a mountaintop wonderland: Grouse Mountain’s New Year’s Eve Snowshoe Fondue Gather the family or a tribe of friends and welcome the new year from atop Grouse Mountain. The resort will host a series of one-hour guided snowshoe tours, each followed by a feast in Altitudes Bistro where you can indulge in the triple threat of cheese, chocolate and broth fondues. Your group can opt for a pre-party adventure (noon and 4pm starts), or a later trip at 7pm. Party under the iconic False Creek dome during this epic evening that will host up to 1,100 revelers. The event will take over two floors of the landmark venue with five fully licensed bars, eight of Vancouver’s top DJs and performers providing entertainment all night long, and a stunning view overlooking False Creek and Olympic Village. Tickets start at $80 and include entry as well as a glass of champagne for the midnight toast.
For an immersive adventure in Gotham City: A Costume Ball at Wayne Manor, hosted by Brock House Restaurant Dive into Batman’s world at this multisensory event that transforms Brock House Restaurant into Wayne Manor, which happens to be hosting Gotham City Policemens’ Masquerade Ball. Guests are encouraged to explore every alcove and corridor of Bruce Wayne’s stately home in search of hidden scenes, live performers and clues that bring to life a shrouded history. The grand finale takes place in the ballroom where guests will dance, sip champagne and toast 2018.
