Take Your Kids to the Vancouver International Children’s Festival on Granville Island
Entertain your kids at the 46th annual Vancouver International Children’s Festival (VICF) in person on Granville Island from May 30 to June 4 and online from May 30-June 23. Families will enjoy a full program of world-class theatre, music, dance, circus, puppetry, and storytelling performers coming to entertain Vancouver children and families.

VICF is the longest-running professional performing arts festival for young audiences and the first of its kind in North America or Europe. Thousands of children and their families participate in a wide variety of fun activities.

There are indoor theatre shows, various forms of outdoor entertainment, and activity tents with everything from paper folding to scavenger hunts. Attendees will also find venues where you can try out circus tricks or get your face painted. VICF offers a variety of entertainment options and free activities included with admission.

In a typical year, as many as 30,000 people attend the festival in good weather over the course of the week including school groups on weekdays. Choose from a wide array of artistic mediums including everything from live original music to hip-hop performances, acrobatics, clowns, and much more.

This year, 18 professional performing artists from as far-reaching as Australia and Madagascar are scheduled to perform 84 shows. Highlights of this year’s festival include A Simple Space and ZOOOM from down under as well as Sakasaka from the African island nation in addition to shows by local performers like Welcome to Missy D’s, One of a Kind or Division Infinity Saves the World!

Each in-person performance pass includes an Activity Village wristband. With over 15 arts activities, the Activity Village offers different ways to engage your child’s imagination and enhance their creativity all while having fun together as a family.
