Why We #LoveVancouver

We know you hear it a lot: We’re all in this together. And despite it starting to sound like a broken record, it’s true– every city the world over is in the same boat, more or less. Saddled in together for the last year only to wait things out until brighter times. That’s why we consider ourselves lucky to have so much around us to hold us over until the sun breaks through.

Whether it’s our sprawling mountains, oceanside parks, or countless forests dotted with hiking trails– the past year has given Vancouverites plenty of reason to remember why this is home. But more than anything, the thing that sets us apart is each other. With fewer visitors coming into the city, we’ve put our hospitality chops to good use, by supporting each other through the hard times.

For every small business struggling to make ends meet, there are countless customers who have stepped up to help keep them afloat. You likely have a few in mind that you go out of your way to support. It’s these relationships that will keep us all going through the coming months.

Visit that attraction you’ve been recommending to visitors for years but haven’t been to in a while. Be your own tour guide and explore a new spot or old favourite in your local neighbourhood. What other time can we have the city entirely to ourselves?

We’re going to take it as a chance to stock up on sweet treats from around the city, take a ferry over to Granville Island for lunch, and stop in for a nightcap at our favourite hotel.

It’s a refresher for why we live where we do, and for why we #LoveVancouver.
