Travel protocol is changing frequently, so we’ve put together an overview of travel protocols for provincial, national, international travel to Vancouver.

Provincial

A public health order is currently in place until further notice. BC residents are strongly encouraged to avoid non-essential travel into, within, and out of BC. Stay small and support local, in line with the PHO.

If you have questions about the latest provincial health orders, please visit BC’s COVID-19 Response. Alternatively, the Province has created a dedicated phone service to provide British Columbians with non-medical information about COVID-19, including the latest information on travel recommendations and social distancing. Information is available in more than 110 languages, seven days a week between 7:30 am-8 pm, at 1-888-COVID19 (1-888-268-4319) or via text message at 1-888-268-4319.

National

Travel restrictions are now in place until further notice. Canadian nationals are strongly encouraged to avoid non-essential travel into BC. Non-essential travel includes travel for a vacation and travel to visit friends or family outside of your core bubble.

If you have questions about the latest provincial health orders, please visit BC’s COVID-19 Response.

We also encourage Canadian nationals to download the COVID Alert app – Canada’s free exposure notification app that can notify people of possible exposures before any symptoms appear.

International

The Government of Canada has extended the US – Canada border closure until further notice. The border also remains closed to all other nonessential international travellers. Please note, these closures are subject to change. We encourage you to visit the Government of Canada’s website for more information and timely updates.

The Government of Canada has created a simple questionnaire tool, making it easy to identify if you are able to enter Canada under extenuating circumstances.

We look forward to welcoming you to Vancouver in the future!
