Ranked as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world, and one of the city’s best foodie neighbourhoods, Vancouver’s West End is a trendy and boisterous area in the city’s downtown peninsula. A gateway to Stanley Park, the West End is bordered by the park, as well as English Bay, Granville and Robson Streets. What used to be a quiet enclave for the elite, is now an incredibly diverse area, home to the city’s gay community, heritage homes, and over 45,000 residents living in high-rise apartments.

The Burrard – This converted motor hotel from 1956 exudes character from every joist, railing and sightline.
The Listel Hotel – Located along Robson Street, the hotel’s rooms and suites are brimming with distinctive and original artwork by a broad, diverse group of famous and emerging artists.
The Sylvia Hotel – Right across English Bay and coated by Boston ivy, the trademark feature of this historic hotel makes it an iconic landmark in the city.

Directly adjoining Stanley Park, biking through the neighbourhood and the seawall is a favourite pastime for locals and tourists. For those wanting to get out on the waters of English Bay, rent a kayak or stand-up paddleboard to get a more private viewing of Vancouver’s sunsets. Across the beach, you can strike a pose with the A-maze-ing Laughter sculptures, 14 bronze statues that’s sure to put a smile on your face.

Davie Village is home to a vibrant and proud LGBTQ + community. During the summer, the annual Gay Pride Parade sees over 100 float and parade entries, and hundreds of thousands of people partying and attending the festivities.

Wander through Robson and Alberni Street to find globally known brands and all things designer.

Along Denman Street, you can find eateries that will satisfy every craving. From Japanese to Korean and Italian to Spanish, visitors can find almost every dish from every part of the world.
