North America’s largest and first fully carbon neutral airline, Harbour Air has recently launched a new route that connects downtown Vancouver with the stunning Northern Sunshine Coast town of Powell River. Access to this adventurer’s paradise has never been easier and guests can now save hours of travel time and multiple ferry trips. This is the latest addition to their flight routes that include panoramic sightseeing tours of Vancouver, and flights to Whistler and Victoria.

Harbour Air is also welcoming back their Seattle to downtown Vancouver seaplane service this mid-May. With daily flights, this one-hour connection allows travellers to maximize their time across the border.

This innovative carbon-neutral company made history by developing the world’s first fully electric commercial aircraft, in partnership with industry-leading electrical innovators. They are currently working to change their entire fleet over to electric, pioneering the way forward for sustainable aviation.

Vancouver continues to make a steadfast commitment to sustainability. From careful planning and engagement with community and environmental organizations, government, and economic development agencies, and through collective respect for the environment and host communities, Vancouver continues to find ways to be the most welcoming city.

Coast Coal Harbour Hotel is one of the city’s most environmentally friendly hotels with a hotel wide Zero waste management program, biodegradable supplies, and a unique carbon offset program. The Listel Hotel is another leader in environmental responsibility. Solar panels on its roof and a heat recovery system significantly reduce the amount of natural gas used to heat the water and the building. Award winning structures around the city such as the Vancouver Convention Centre and the VanDusen Botanical Garden Visitor Centre are great examples of a flourishing eco architecture focus.
