It’s TV pilot season, with a whole batch being shot in Vancouver this month. If all goes well and they’re greenlit, it could mean a whole bunch of new TV series will be shot in the city in the near future.

There’s also a creepy alien movie back in town, a creepy classical-music thriller calling it a wrap, and a creepy TV series about a girl without hands shooting its first season.

Hopefully all this creepiness is intriguing because here’s this week’s rundown of what’s going on in Vancouver’s screen scene.

A big baddie is back in town—for additional shooting for The Predator.

First up, The Predator is back in town for some reshoots, which start today (March 12) and continue until March 29.

The cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Sterling K. Brown, Edward James Olmos, and Vancouver’s Jacob Tremblay.

The sci-fi flick is the fourth instalment in the Predator movie series. After experiencing a number of delays, it wrapped up its initial shoot in June last year.

Originally, the movie was slated to be released on February 9, but then it was rescheduled to August 3. And now that date has been shifted to September 14. Let’s hope that’s the last of the changes to the release date.

Another sinister movie in town, The Perfection, wraps up its shoot on Friday (March 16), after it began on February 14.

Directed by Richard Shepard (Girls), the horror-thriller follows two cello prodigies whose desire for excellence is driven by an ominous obsession.
