First things first: Christmas is officially over.
Yes, The Christmas Chronicles 2calls it a wrap tomorrow (February 4).
This family-friendly Netflix movie started filming back on October 21.

In the 2018 hit movie shot in Toronto, two kids (played by Judah Lewis and Darby Camp) met Santa Claus (Kurt Russell) and teamed up with his to save the Christmas Spirit after his malfunctioning sleigh crashed, and he loses his bag of toys and his magical hat.

In this sequel directed by Chris Columbus (Pixels), the kids—now a little older—reunite with Santa when a mysterious being called Belsnickel (Julian Dennison) attempts to put a permanent end to Christmas.

Goldie Hawn returns as Mrs. Claus, and the cast will include Tyrese Gibson, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, and more.

The release date has yet to be announced but something tells us it’ll probably be sometime around the winter holiday season.

Anyhow moving right along, as that one finishes up, another Netflix feature film is getting going.
It’s currently known alternately as Untitled Sandra Bullock/Nora Fingscheidt Project or Untitled Graham King Project will shoot from today (February 3) until April 9. (Graham King is one of the producers.)
Directed by Nora Fingschiedt (System Crasher), this post-incarceration drama is an adaptation of the 2009 British miniseries Unforgiven.
Sandra Bullock (Bird Box) stars in this film as a woman released from prison after serving time for a violent crime.

But when she attempts to re-enter her former world, she faces nothing but harsh judgement from others who refuse to forgive her.
Her only source of hope left is to find her estranged younger sister whom she had to leave behind.

Meanwhile, a TV series of a very different type of subject matter also kicks off filming today.

Gabby Duran and the Unsittables begins shooting Season 2 today (February 3) and will continue until July 31.
This live-action sci-fi comedy series is based on the novel of the same name by Elise Allen and Daryle Conners.

The series follows the titular character, played by Kylie Cantrall (Raven’s Home), as she received a job to babysit a group of hard-to-handle extraterrestrial children disguised as humans.
And she must do her best to keep their true identities a secret—which is easier said than done.
The cast includes Maxwell Acee Donovan, Callan Farris, Coco Christo, Valery M. Ortiz, and Nathan Lovejoy.

This show has already hit home screens as Season 1 premiered on the Disney Channel back on October 11.

Continuing on with the sci-fi theme, Away is, unfortunately, going away—for the time being.
This space drama series will finish up shooting 10 episodes for Season 1 on Wednesday (February 5), having commenced shooting Season 1 back on August 26 with production based in North Vancouver.

Hilary Swank (who also is an executive producer of the show) stars as a U.S. astronaut who has to leave behind her husband and daughter (Josh Charles and Talitha Bateman) on Earth when she goes to head up an international team embarking upon a dangerous mission.

The cast includes Ato Essandoh, Mark Ivanir, Ray Pathanki, and Vivian Wu.
