Allan Harmon

Throughout his 25-year career, Allan Harmon has immersed himself in all aspects of the entertainment industry. He has produced, directed and acted – for film, television and commercials – working for notable studios like Universal Pictures, Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros., CBS, Lifetime, Lionsgate Studios and many more. He also serves as Chairman, BC District, for the Director’s Guild of Canada.

Allan’s production company, Really Real Films – co-owned with partner Cynde Harmon, and based in Vancouver – develops, finances and produces independent film and television projects for both the domestic and international marketplaces. In the last few years, Allan has been busy directing productions by Hallmark (nearly 60 are shot in and around the Vancouver region each year). Allan’s most recent titles include Mingle All the Way – filmed in Vancouver during the summer of 2018, and airing in early December on the W Channel – as well as Season’s Greetings and The Christmas Calendar. Currently, Allan is shooting Winter Princess at Big White Ski Resort, which will be released in mid-January.

Twenty-five years ago, Allan and Cynde moved to Vancouver from upstate New York, attracted by the city’s metropolitan landscape and expansive natural surroundings. They have a particular fondness for Vancouver’s buzzy restaurant scene and the abundance of world cuisines available, as well as the rich collection of picture-perfect landscapes that regularly make their way into Really Real Films’ productions. Here, Allan shares his favourite Vancouver experiences.
